Les Beaux Arts

Ever wonder what makes Paris so wonderfully versatile in architectural styles yet effortlessly flawless? Parisian architecture encompasses  Roman , Medieval, Baroque,Gothic, Classical and Neoclassical elements; but in the early 19th and 20th century the School of Fine Arts  decided to produce a grandiose elaboration on the more refined neoclassical style which they named “Les Beaux Arts”. It was a way of bringing everything together symmetrical facades ornamented with lavish details and imposing masonry stone structures reserved only for the elite…

Today, was a day of exploration and wonder. Since this city never seizes to amaze me I decided to give you a tour of the Parisian neighborhoods and a brief historical background of its architectural wonders.

Fall is the best time of the year to walk around Paris; with favorable weather and beautiful golden autumn hues it’s the perfect opportunity to explore the city.

Since the temperature has significantly fallen I chose to wear something timeless and classy, a full knitted maxi wool white dress by Vero Moda, a pair of Asos comfy wedges and my favorite Chanel bag. After my tour, I met up with an old friend for some fine wine tasting accompanied by a rich platter of French cheese.
