How have you been my loves? I hope that you are reading this somewhere sunny and on your way to your next adventure. Here is the first post from my Holidays in Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia and I have been walking its Renaissance streets pondering upon the effects of awe on the human soul. I decided to dedicate this post to all of you whose spirit is persistently inquisitive and restless.
I woke up to catch the first sunbeams of the rising sun. I wanted to takes advantage of my day to visit very important sights and since I had limited time I booked the tickets online so that I could skip the long queues.
The weather was absolutely perfect allowing me to wear any outfit I chose to. Since I had to catch up with an old friend later that afternoon I needed to wear something
that would be appropriate for any occasion. I wore my own personally designed
velvet skirt, a beige top from &otherstories, My Classic timeless Chanel bag, Prada shades and my favorite pair of Gianvito Rossi heels. It’s a playful outfit that can be easily worn from day to night simply by changing into a slightly more revealing top.
I met up with a friend and visited the local market to have a traditional Spanish breakfast. Ohh Barcelona is overflowing with history, art and exquisite architecture. The city of great artists such as Gaudi and Dalli is full of awe inspiring cathedrals, luxurious casas, gothic quarters and squares. I would say that what made a truly lasting impression on me was Gaudi’s Cathedral “La Sagrada Familla” the architectural complexity of the building is the first thing that strikes you but once you are inside this magnificent church you are humbled by the unparalled beauty and godlike potential of human creation. Gaudi considered religion a divine sentiment, so much so that he wanted to create a place worthy of human emotion and as he stated “there’s no greater feeling than the one brought forth by religion”.
My day ended with acouple of drinks and a lovely Spanish dinner. I will certainly leave Barcelona with the best impressions. If you want to have exclusive sneak peeks on my travels and whereabouts don’t forget to follow me on my Instagram diary @remisabbah
